The ARIS process: 3 steps to personalized insurance coverage

Step 1: Find an agent

American Republic Insurance Services recommends contacting an agent three to six months before your 65th birthday. Visit the Find an agent page to locate one in your area. When you schedule a meeting, include your significant other and plan for at least a one-hour session. Your agent can meet with you in your home or where you feel most comfortable, including a virtual meeting app.

Step 2: Meet with your representative

To get the most out of your meeting, you should have a basic idea of your retirement income, health care records, and current insurance policies. We suggest bringing the following documents to make the process smoother:

  • A copy of your current medical insurance plan
  • A list of current prescription drugs that you are taking
  • A copy of your life insurance policies
  • A copy of your long-term care and other health insurance policies

During the meeting, your agent will complete a personalized assessment and present tailored recommendations.

Step 3: Stay connected

Your representative will contact you on a periodic basis to make sure the recommended plans are fulfilling your needs. Remember to contact your agent when your financial or health circumstances change to check if your insurance is still meeting your retirement goals.
