Enrolling In Medicare

Enrolling In Medicare

Six months prior to your 65th birthday, you can sign up for Medicare Part A. If you are older than 65 and did not sign up on or before your 65th birthday, you should be aware that you can only enroll during the annual enrollment period (January 1 to March 31).

Even if you plan to work past your 65th birthday and have group health insurance through your employer, you still need to sign up for Medicare. In this case, your group plan will be your primary insurance and Medicare will be secondary.

Contact your local American Republic Insurance Services representative to help you make informed decisions about the when and how to enroll for Medicare.
